Welcome

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 3rd WVPA Africa & Middle East Meeting, we are pleased to invite you to this distinguished event, to be held in Istanbul from 2–4 September 2026. This meeting will be a key forum for knowledge exchange across poultry production and related sectors throughout Africa and the Middle East, providing an exceptional platform to showcase scientific and technical advances in sustainable production systems.

Under the theme “Sustainable Poultry Production from East to West,” the program will address critical issues affecting industry sustainability, with particular emphasis on the Middle East and Africa. Topics will include infectious disease control and epidemiology, gastrointestinal disorders and their impact on performance, climate change and water scarcity, emerging and re-emerging diseases, and innovative technologies and practices.

This multidisciplinary meeting welcomes contributions addressing any production-related field (veterinary, management, environmental, economic, or technological) that impacts sustainable animal production. We encourage submissions from researchers, academics, veterinarians, industry professionals, policymakers, and graduate students across all sectors of poultry production.

We are honored to welcome a diverse mix of participants; researchers, practitioners, and distinguished international speakers. The program will feature more than ten keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations, and ample networking opportunities, all aimed at collaboratively shaping the future of poultry science and production.

The Meeting will take place at the magnificent Swissôtel The Bosphorus in Istanbul: a city of rich, multicultural history on 2-4 September 2026. Istanbul, straddling Europe and Asia, offers a unique blend of history, culture, and modern hospitality. Delegates can explore iconic landmarks such as the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and the Blue Mosque, enjoy Bosphorus cruises, and experience vibrant culinary and cultural scenes. The city is well connected internationally, with two major airports and extensive transport links, and provides a wide range of accommodation and conference facilities. We look forward to your participation and to sharing perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for sustainable production.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who will contribute to making this congress a success.
